Got Current on Neutral Wire Point

two days ago i found two of my fluorescent light, one in a bedroom and another one in a living room is not functioning. I thought it maybe due to a faulty lamp units since i already bought new lamps and starters but it still cannot make lights on. Unfortunately when i try to change the new lamp, i got some electric shot when i accidently hold a neutral wire even my room lamp switch was off. It make me wonder why it happen, but thanks to www.howstuffworks.com because from there i learn fundamental of electric and electric circuit. From the information i found there, it seems that there is an open connection in my neutral point else where in my house. I try looking for open connection on Neutral wire in my house and taddaaa.... I found one unused lamp point with open connection on neutral wire, By simply reattaching the neutral wire point my problem are now fixed. Hmm what a waste money bought two new sets of lamp :(
